“I'm a trade unionist with the Communication Workers Union. I believe in collectivism and what we can achieve when we work with each other. Through my union I've been involved with community wealth building which aims to transform local economies to allow local people and communities to own, access and benefit from the wealth it generates.

I have been able to work with the people behind the Preston Model which has seen community banking, worker owned businesses and much more to benefit and empower local people. I'm currently working with York and North Yorkshire on their community wealth building commission.

I've lived in Runcorn all my life and have a lot of family history here. Runcorn's not on it's own in loosing shops and bank branches but it's so good to see everything that's happening in the old town now with the incredible murals that speak to our history, the youth centre, the Brindley and all the other projects.

This Community Land Trust will give everyone the chance to be involved in shaping what we want the old town to be going forward. ”
